Hello,

I only have a quick second, but I wanted to tell you all that your prayers and good wishes made all of our dreams come true today!! Dirk's surgery could not have gone better. The surgeon did not have to cut through the tectum, so Dirk's eyes look great. He is having minimal left sided weakness and he says his butt hurts like the dickens. (That's because the surgery was in a seated position.) The surgery time was roughly six hours...it felt like eternity.

Dirk will be in ICU for two days and then on the neuro unit for another 3-4 days. At this point it looks like he will be able to come home, yeah!

Oh boy, I am so glad we are through this!! It was a very challenging day, but as with everything these days, there are lessons to be learned and strength to be gained. And now Dirk and I can continue to rehab, rehab, rehab until he is back to where he wants to be.
