Hi all -

Well, as we were seeing from the last email - the good signs have continued. Dirk is doing a good ways better. While the brain is an extremely sensitive area and everything going forward remains very sensitive - he is making, I use the word - incredible - progress.

THE LATEST - Dirk being the Ox we know him as - had an afternoon of squeezing hands hearing us talk to him, to opening his eyes somewhat at times, to shifting in the bed because he might be feeling uncomfortable, to the evening winner: he is writing out letters with his fingers for messages to Kelsey and his family!!! They had to sedate him since he is using too much energy that he needs for recovery. As we all know Dirk - always trying to push further and harder than he should?

Just some news for your Monday morning. Thanks for the emails, I am saving them all for him. I have been telling him about all of your wishes and vibes, it brings about true, heartfelt thanks to all of you. Of course, as I talked to him I reminded him how much he enjoys all this attention, which brought about a foot and leg movement!

NEXT - He will go through more tests tomorrow, have an angiogram (sp?) to determine more about this annoying AVM. We still have a long road ahead, but Dirk has taken quite a few steps to getting better.
