I am one of Kelsey and Dirk's close friends. I am not sure if you have heard of the recent tragic events - Kelsey asked that I email you so that you would know and could also be kept updated as things unfold. Dirk was racing on Saturday in a triathlon and suffered a major bleed in his brain - he was flown immediately to Queens Hospital in Honolulu and is currently in the Neuro-Intensive Care Unit there. Kelsey is there with Dirk's parents and her parents. We are all hoping and praying for them. I will forward you 2 other emails that will relay more information about this devastating news. I will also forward you an email that has the Queens Hospital mailing address in case you would like to send a card. Dirk can't receive any baked goods/flowers at this time while he is in the intensive care unit. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions. I'll be speaking with kels again later today and will continue to update all of their loved ones with any news.
